Their work
Arman's research focuses on the political economy of emerging technologies, particularly how AI-enabled platforms shape state capacity, cultural production, and development pathways across the US–China context and the Global South. His work examines questions of platform governance and digital infrastructure, with a comparative focus on China and Southeast Asia, and considers how policy choices influence creative industries, social trust, and long-term economic development.
